God is not limited to songs and sermons on Sunday. He is everywhere, in all circumstances, at all times, speaking to us.
He is there in the morning when you wake up, offering you brand new mercies as you pour coffee in your cup.
He is there at the table when you eat, when you read the news, when you’re reading the Bible, as you ponder and plan your day. He speaks in a still, small voice, I AM, all you need. You don’t have to figure it all out. Trust Me, I’ve got you.
He is there in your car as you drive to work. He wants you to turn your commute into a chapel of praise, thanksgiving and worship to Him.
He is there on your walk or run, as you do laundry, cook and clean. He’s there to remind you of your value to Him and how He wants to use your gifts and talents to bless others.
He is there in every relationship you have; family, friends and coworkers. Each one an opportunity to show God’s love, grace, tenderness and mercy. Just as He has shown you.
He is there in the garden as you admire the flowers, as you look at the birds and listen to their song, noticing that they don’t have a care in the world. They don’t worry, fret or fear. And you remember what Jesus said, “If your Heavenly Father cares for them, how much more will He care for you?”
He is there when you gaze at a sunset, and listen to the crashing waves, and feel the kiss of a breeze on your cheek. He speaks all the time through His creation, showing all His splendor that He made for you to enjoy.
He is there as you lay your head on the pillow at night, whispering, be still and know that I AM, God. Let it all go. Give it to Me and your sleep will be sweet.
God is not limited to songs and sermons. He is everywhere, in all things, at all times speaking to us, calling us, to love Him and worship Him, trust Him and hope in Him, follow Him and let Him work in and through us, His perfect plan. It’s better than yours :)
“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” ~1 Corinthians 10:31
“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.” ~Colossians 1:16
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything. Rather, He Himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us.
‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’
As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ “Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent. For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.” ~Acts 17:24-31
