Anti-Abortion Activist

Every day in my job at Right to Life of Michigan, I read articles that refer to pro-lifers as "anti-abortion activists."

It feels as though they are trying to insult us, implying that we are bad people who don’t care about women's healthcare or "reproductive freedom."

I find myself both laughing and cringing at these wildly illogical claims touting the supposed horrors of women being denied the "right" to kill their unborn baby. I furrow my brow, trying to understand and feel compassion for those who are so deceived and misguided.

I was once in that position, so I can empathize to some extent. However, I am truly baffled that we live in a so-called sophisticated society that legalized the killing of unborn children, despite having laws against murder. It troubles me deeply.

I'm astonished that people fight for the right to kill their children, labeling those of us who oppose it as radical, uncaring, anti-abortion activists.

According to the logic of pro-abortion activists, I’m a villain who hates women and wants to force them to have babies.

To the contrary, I’m a co-founder of Abundant Life Women’s Ministries, dedicated to helping women and fighting to save lives that are being destroyed by abortion. I am one of many women who have experienced the pain, shame, guilt, and regret of having my unborn baby killed because I was ignorant and afraid.

We are trying in every way we can to spare other women the trauma of abortion that leaves them with a lifetime of regret. But we are considered hateful, radical people you should fear.

Pro-abortion activists are rabidly seeking to kill your children and grandchildren in the womb, and if they’re allowed to be born, they want to mutilate their bodies with drugs and surgeries in the name of “gender affirming care.”  These are the people we’re supposed to believe care more about women than pro-lifers do.

Sounds like the father of lies that Jesus spoke about in the gospel of John, 8:44, is doing a great job of deceiving, stealing, killing, and destroying.

Because euphemisms are so often used to discuss abortion, softening and obscuring the brutal reality of the gruesome procedure, it’s important to be clear and precise when talking about it.

Abortion is not:

  • Reproductive health, care, right, or freedom

  • Women's healthcare

  • A woman's right to choose

  • Termination of pregnancy

  • Good for women

  • An act of love or mercy

  • Right

Abortion is:

  • Killing an innocent human baby by poison or dismemberment

  • Harmful and potentially deadly to women

  • Detrimental to men, extended family, and generations

  • Emotionally, mentally, and spiritually scarring to women and men

  • Not a right

  • An abomination to God

Thank God, I have been saved, forgiven, healed, and redeemed by Christ’s sacrifice on the cross of all my sins, including abortion. My eyes have been opened, the truth has set me free, I’m a new creation in Christ, and you can be too.

I will happily wear the title “anti-abortion activist” while praying that God will open more eyes and hearts to His truth to realize that anti-abortion means anti-harming women and anti-killing babies, which is a good thing.

Jesus will return one day, and the murder will end, and the wicked will be judged. Everyone who believed in and practiced the killing of our children will realize how deadly wrong they were. For some, it will be too late. Don’t let that be you.

Repent, turn to the Lord, and be saved, and start using your voice and working to help rescue those who are being led away to death.  Proverbs 24:11-12

If I can pray for you and encourage you in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
